Once again, welcome back to another Top 5 Wednesday post! Today’s prompt is basically a May book haul. But before we get into that, go ahead and read the original prompt, first:
Most book lovers have a hard time going too long without a book purchase. What are five books you’ve purchased recently that you’re excited to read?
(This month’s prompts were provided by Alex (The Scribe Owl). Top 5 Wednesday was originally created by GingerReadsLainey.)
Really, this is only a portion of my real May book haul; I bought quite a few books this month. No regrets, though. If you want to see all the books I got, you can check here!
But, without further delay, here are five of my favorites I bought last month!
Scythe by Neal Shusterman

A lot of friends recommended this one to me! And I’ve heard so many good things about it. So, I finally bought it a little while ago. I don’t quite know when I’ll get around to reading it, but it should be soon. It definitely has a place near the top of my TBR list!

All The Crooked Saints by Maggie Stiefvater

I absolutely love Maggie Stiefvater! Her writing is truly amazing, so it’s a sin that I haven’t read all of her books, yet. Anyway, I bought this for myself recently, and I can’t wait to get into it. It sounds amazing, and I think I’m going to love it.

On These Black Sands by Vanessa Rasanen

Okay, so technically I bought this a while ago, so it’s not really a recent purchase. But I wanted to include it here because it’s a book I am insanely excited about. I pre-ordered it and it won’t actually arrive until August, but still. I really can’t wait! You know how much I love pirate fantasies, so I’m pretty much guaranteed to fall in love with this.

One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston

As you know, I loved Red, White, and Royal Blue! So, when I heard McQuiston was coming out with a new book this year, I was thrilled. By the time I post this, I’ll have read it already, but as of writing this, it hasn’t even arrived yet. Anyway, I’m super excited for this one and can’t wait to get into it!

The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater

I’ve been wanting to read this forever, but I only just finally bought myself a copy! Still, I’m glad I finally did, and I can’t wait to read this. I love the premise, and I have no doubt it will live up to my expectations. It’s a Maggie Stiefvater book, after all.

So, there you have it: A selection from my May book haul! Looking back on it, I actually bought a lot of books I’ve already read. For example, I finally bought physical copies of the Grisha trilogy and I got a paperback copy of The Sons of Mil.
Anyway, if you enjoyed this post, feel free to click here to see more similar posts! And drop a comment down below to let me know about your own recent purchases! I’d love to hear about them.

Both of those Maggie Stiefvater books are amazing! She is one of my favourites! Scythe is also an amazing series!
Yeah, I’m really excited for all of those! Maggie’s one of my favorites, too, so it was definitely time to take the jump and read the rest of her work.
Daisy Jones & the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid and The Extraordinaries by TJ Klune are the recent purchase that I am most excited about. Oh! I almost forgot. I bought No Longer Human by Osamu Dazai earlier today and that’s on my top most anticipated read from my recent purchase!
No Longer Human is such a good one! Definitely hope you enjoy reading that 🙂
