It’s Wednesday, so I have another Top 5 Wednesday post for you! Today’s is a little different than usual since we’re talking about the entire series and not individual books. Specifically, I’m going to give you some long series recommendations!

But first, here’s the original prompt:

I don’t know about you, but I love a long series, which is anything more than three books. What are your favorites?

(This month’s prompts were provided by Alex (The Scribe Owl). Top 5 Wednesday was originally created by GingerReadsLainey.)

So, here are my recommendations for some long series! Admittedly, I mostly included fantasy series. But that has more to do with the fact that most long series are part of the fantasy genre, I think. Regardless, I hope you enjoy my suggestions!

Throne of Glass Series by Sarah J. Maas

Full disclosure: I have yet to finish the Throne of Glass series. I still need to read Kingdom of Ash. But the rest of the series is amazing, and I know from friends that the final book lives up to expectations. And, well, there are plenty of people who love this series and would also recommend it to you. So, I can confidently say that this is one of the best and most popular longer series out there.

The Merlin Saga by T.A. Barron

These books are some of my favorites ever. I absolutely love them, and I have for a long time. Technically, the series can be divided into three smaller series, but they’re usually grouped together. (At least, in my mind they are. And Goodreads confirmed, so.) Anyway, these books sparked my love of Arthurian legend, so they definitely have a special place in my heart. But they’re also just excellent books with an amazing story, and I highly recommend giving them a go.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan

I’m sure you saw this one coming. But these books definitely deserve a place on this list. After all, how many of us absolutely loved Rick Riordan’s books? Honestly, I haven’t picked up a Riordan book in a while, but I still love the ones I did read. And I want to take the time at some point to read the more recent ones, to be honest.

Maximum Ride Series by James Patterson

Looking back on these books, they were a little weird. Especially the last few. (If you’ve read these, you know what I’m talking about.) But when I was maybe eleven years old, I developed a sudden, unhealthy obsession and binged every single one of these over the span of a three-week vacation. For reasons that remain unknown, I just could not stop. So, based on my own feelings towards this series at the time, I definitely think younger readers could enjoy them just as much as I did!

The History of Middle-earth Series by J.R.R. Tolkien and Christopher Tolkien

Ten books about the history of Middle-earth and Tolkien’s amazing world. What more needs to be said?

So, I hope you enjoyed my long series recommendations! I tried to include some variety and different types of books, and I think I succeeded. At least, to some degree.

Anyway, if you liked the post, feel free to use the Extras tab above to see more like it! I have a lot of lists, and they all have some great book recommendations; I highly encourage checking them out.
