Hello, all, and welcome back to another Top 5 Wednesday prompt. Today’s prompt was both easy and difficult because it’s about books I still haven’t read. On one hand, that’s easy, because there are a lot of them. On the other hand, how in the world do I choose just five?! But before we get into my list, here’s the original prompt:
Happy June! To kick off the month, let’s look at some backlist books! Backlist books are books that have been out for over a year. What are five backlist books that you’ve had your eye on for a while but have yet to get to?(This month’s prompts were provided by Alex (The Scribe Owl). Top 5 Wednesday was originally created by GingerReadsLainey.)
Anyway, I don’t have much else to add here in the intro. So, here’s my list; I hope you enjoy it!
#5: The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater
Honestly, the fact that I love Maggie Stiefvater as much as I do but still haven’t read this… it’s a little sad, to be honest. But I recently bought a copy of this, so I’ll be reading it soon! And I love the premise and concept behind this story, so I can’t wait to actually read it.
#4: Queen of Air and Darkness by Cassandra Clare
Really, I just need to catch up on reading Cassandra Clare’s books in general. But this one, in particular, I really need to read. After all, The Dark Artifices series is what renewed my interest in her books; while I didn’t dislike The Mortal Instruments, I also wasn’t a huge fan. But I really enjoyed the first two books in this trilogy! So, I definitely need to read the final installment.
#3: Serpent & Dove by Shelby Mahurin
I honestly hate that I haven’t read this yet! If you know me, you know I love witches. So, this book obviously excites me a lot. But I haven’t had the chance to get myself a copy yet, so, unfortunately, I probably won’t read it too soon. But hopefully, I can get to it and its sequel before the third book comes out!
#2: The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
I think this is the book that I’ve been promising to read for the longest time. It has, quite literally, been years. And I honestly don’t know why I haven’t read it yet?! But I’ve been thinking about doing a circus-themed reading marathon at some point soon. I haven’t read Caraval, either, which I think has a similar vibe, and there are a couple of other circus books I want to read. So, I think it could be a fun to do them all at once!
#1: King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo
This is at the top of the list because I’m honestly ashamed to admit I haven’t read it yet. I wanted to read it before Rule of Wolves came out, but, well. That didn’t exactly happen, okay? But I definitely promise to get to this one soon! After all, I really want to read it, and I will either find the time or make the time to do so!
So, I hope you enjoyed this list of books I still haven’t read! There are plenty more I could include, of course, but these are definitely some of the most notable. If you did like this list, feel free to check out similar posts of mine here!
