Welcome back to another Top 5 Wednesday post! This one has to do with judging a book by its cover and the most beautiful book covers found in my TBR list! Considering how long that list is, it should be no surprise that there are some true gems here!
Everyone says not to judge a book by its cover, but what if you did? For this week’s prompt, go through your TBR and find the five most stunning covers you can! Bonus points if you read them next month!
(This month’s prompts were provided by Alex (The Scribe Owl). Top 5 Wednesday was originally created by GingerReadsLainey.)
A good plot definitely takes the cake for being the most important thing about a book, but stunning cover art never fails to draw my attention. So, although judging a book by its cover isn’t the best practice, we can still appreciate these beautiful book covers!
#5: Crown of Bones by A.K. Wilder

Blue covers will always be my favorite. Especially when they feature gold accents! So, all things considered, it’s no surprise I love this cover as much as I do. The stunning golden palace, the wisps of blue magic floating through the air, the cerulean lion roaring in the background… Everything about this cover is stunning!

#4: House of Bastiion by K.L. Kolarich

At one point when I was a kid, I was obsessed with masquerades! I don’t entirely remember where it came from, but I remember a time in some fancy house décor shop where there was a rack of masks, and I tried on every single one of them. Turning to the subject at hand, though, I absolutely adore this cover! The antlers on the mask are amazing, and the stars in the background are beautiful. And the spot of pinkish-purple light on the right side of the mask just adds a little extra something that I love.

#3: The Descent of the Drowned by Ana Lal Din

I recently added this one to my TBR, but I am in love with the stunning cover art! The gold serpent strangling a bloody heart straight up gives me the shivers. And the gold scales flaking off? Gorgeous. I also adore the title font, mainly because it reminds me of illuminated manuscripts! Honestly, I just can’t wait to read this one!

#2: Witches Steeped in Gold by Ciannon Smart

Honestly, so many books being released this year have stunning covers! The green and gold for this one work so well together. Also, I am in love with the symmetry! And the portraits of the characters themselves are just gorgeous! The plot for this one also looks amazing; I think the number of exclamation points I used in this caption shows how excited I am to read it!

#1: Unchosen by Katharyn Blair

Look at it. Just look at it, and appreciate the beauty. When I first saw this cover, it absolutely took my breath away. Sadly, I’ve yet to purchase a copy of this stunning book for myself, but you can rest assured I will soon! But my TBR is endless, and I have come to accept that I will probably never be completely caught up on it.

Fantastic picks! I read “House of Bastiion” recently and it was one of my rare five-star reads! All of these are on my TBR too. I hope you enjoy!
Thanks, I’m really looking forward to it! I’ve heard so many great things about it so I’m sure I won’t be disappointed
House of Bastiion and Unchosen both look soo gorgeous! I love the colors!
Pinkish- or blueish-purple covers are my weakness! Just such a perfect combination
